2. Determine depth of damage on external parallel
surfaces (4) using outside caliper as follows:
a. Remove projecting material (5) by blending.
Use Carborundum stone (E10).
b. Determine thickness of part at damage. Use
outside caliper (6).
c. Measure set thickness on outside caliper (6).
Use thickness gage or inside micrometer cali-
per. Record as Dimension A.
