IntroductionB-1.ScopeThis appendix lists integral components of and basicissue items for the power plant to help you inventoryitems required for safe and efficientB-2.GeneralThe Components of End Items List is divided into thefollowing sections:a.Section II. Integral Components of the End Item.These items, when assembled, comprise the powerplant and must accompany it whenever it is transferredor turned in. These illustrations will help you inventorythese items.b.Section III. Basic Issue Items.These are minimumessential items required to place the power plant inoperation, to operate it, and to perform emergencyrepairs. Although shipped separately packed they mustaccompany the power plant during operation andwhenever it is transferred between accountable officers.The illustrations will assist you with hard-to-identifyitems. This manual is your authority to requisitionreplacement BII, based on Table(s) of Organization andEquipment (TOE)/(MTOE) authorization of the end item.B-3.Explanation of Columnsa.Illustration.This column is divided as follows:(1) Figure Number. Indicates the figure number of theillustration on which the item is shown (if applicable).(2) Item Number. The number used to identify itemcalled out in the illustration.b.National Stock Number (NSN).Indicates theNational stock number assigned to the item and whichwill be used for requisitioning.c.Part Number (P/N).Indicates the primary numberused by the manufacturer, which controls the design andcharacteristics of the item by means of its engineeringdrawings, specifications, standards, and inspectionrequirements to identify an item or range of items.d.Description.Indicates the Federal item name and, ifrequired, a minimum description to identify the item.e.Location.The physical location of each item listedis given in this column. The lists are designed toinventory all items in one area of the major item beforemoving on to an adjacent area.f.Usable on Code."USABLE ON" codes are includedto help you identify which component items are used onthe different models. Identification of the codes used inthese lists are:CodeUsedOnNoneNoneg.Quantity Required (Qty Reqd).This column lists thequantity of each item required for a complete majoritem.h.Quantity.This column is left blank for use duringinventory. Under the Rcvtd column, list the quantity youactually receive on your major item. The Date columnsare for use when you inventory the major item at a laterdate; such as for shipment to another site.B-1
