1108 ADJUST FUEL CONTROL (N1) (Continued)
Adjustment of fuel selector (A1) is factory set
for JP4 fuel. If fuel being used is JP5, JP8,
JET A, or JET A1; and the engine fails to ac
celerate with high PTIT during starting (hung
starts), the fuel selector (A1) may be adjusted
for the JP5 setting..
If one of the alternate fuels are primatrily
used with occasional usage of JP4 fuel,
the fuel selector may be left in the JP5
a. If one of the alternate fuels are primarily used
with occasional usage of JP4 fuel, the fuel selector
may be left in the JP5 setting.
b. Lockwire (E29) fuel selector (A1).
adjustment of fuel selector setting from
JP4 to JP5 regardless of type of fuel
Adjusting the fuel selector setting
from JP4 to JP5 results in a lower
fuel schedule, thereby reducing com-
pressor stalls that are induced by rich
fuel schedules especially during start-
ing. However, lower fuel schedules
will result in longer acceleration times
during transients. It is essential that
acceleration times are in accordance
excessive N2/Rotor Droop.
