This appendix lists basic issue and troop installed or authorized
items.

The following provides an explanation of columns
in the tabular list of basic issue items, Section II.
a. Source. Maintenance. and Recoverability (SMR) Codes (column a).
(1) source code.
Source codes are assigned to show the manner of acquiring
basic issue and troop installed items.
The two-letter codes are entered in the
first and second positions of the SMR code.
