TEST OR INSPECTION
30. OIL SMOKE COMING FROM EXHAUST DURING OPERATION.
It is not abnormal to occasion-

Check oil level.
If normal or low, go to Step 2.
If high, drain to correct operating level (paragraph 4-8).
Check for oil leaks throughout lubrication system and where
gearbox mates with compressor inlet housing.
If no leaks, go to Step 3.
Repair leaks as necessary.
Inspect exhaust duct for oil streaks.
If streaks present, refer engine to depot level for
inspection and maintenance.
SCRAPING/RUBBING NOISES DURING SHUTDOWN.
Refer generator set to next higher level of maintenance.
